Importing Users & Groups from Microsoft Entra ID

Once your Microsoft Entra ID connection is live, you can begin importing your users and groups into your Social Card workspace.

This guide explains how to:

  • Start a new import task
  • Preview and select which users and groups to import
  • Search for specific users and groups
  • Import selected users into your workspace
  • Understand what happens during and after the import

Starting a new import task

Step-by-Step

  1. Go to IntegrationsMicrosoft Entra ID
  2. Click Start Import

⚠️ If the Start Import button is disabled:

  • Your connection may not be fully established
  • Required configuration steps may be missing
  • Try refreshing your connection or reviewing the setup

Previewing Users & Groups

When you start an import, we’ll open a preview interface where you can:

  • Review all available users and groups from your directory
  • Search by name or email
  • Filter by group
  • Select individual users or groups for import

🔄 The preview tables are paginated. If you don’t see a specific user or group, try loading more results.

Importing Groups

If you select a group:

  • All eligible members of that group will be included in the import
  • Eligibility is based on your current sync options and filters
  • Only Entra ID user accounts (not service accounts or external contacts) will be imported
  • We will also directly import and link the Group into your workspace.

🧠 Tip: Use groups to simplify bulk importing, especially for department rollouts or onboarding events.

After Selection

Once your users and groups are selected:

  • Click either Import Groups or Import Users
  • Review your selections, and click Yes, Start Import
  • We'll begin importing users and groups into your workspace; Users will appear in your Recipients tab, and Groups will appear in the Groups tab
  • You can monitor progress in your Entra ID integration settings
  • Mapped fields will populate based on your current field settings
