Managing Recipients

Managing recipients in your workspace is simple and designed to allow complete control of recipient information and cards.

Updating Recipients

When your existing team members' information changes for whatever reason, it is commonplace to want to update their business cards too. This process is easy With digital business cards and no longer requires wasted paper or re-prints. Recipient profiles in Social Card make updating contact information more effortless than ever. Below are the steps to follow to update information for a specific recipient:

  1. Navigate to Recipients.
  2. Find and select the recipient you'd like to update.
    1. You can search your workspace for the recipient using the magnifying glass in the top right.
  3. Select the details tab.
  4. Click the Edit Recipient button.
  5. Now, make your changes.
  6. When you're finished making changes, there are a few options.
    1. If the recipient has no assigned cards or you do not want to update the cards, you can save these changes by clicking Save in the top right.
    2. If the has one or more assigned cards, you'll have the option to Save & Sync the recipient information changes.
  7. If either button is disabled, a required piece of information is likely missing. Review the fields below.
  8. If you've elected to save the changes, that's it; you can exit back to the recipient profile.
  9. If you've elected to Save & Sync, you'll see a confirmation modal showing the number of active cards we'll include in the syncing task. Please review that number.
  10. Below the card count, you'll see an optional checkbox allowing you to notify your recipient when their card(s) have been successfully changed. When selected, we'll send an email on task completion with confirmation that their new contact information has been applied to their cards.
  11. If all looks good, click the Sync Changes button to start the syncing task.
  12. You'll be redirected to the recipient profile, where the sync task will be active.
  13. On completion, we'll notify you and optional the recipient of completion.

What is recipient sync?

We will not automatically update active cards when you change an existing recipient. To push recipient information changes out to all their active cards, you'll need to start a Recipient Sync task. This task will take the newly updated recipient profile and contact information and apply the changes to all active cards assigned to your updated recipient. Depending on the number of assigned cards, this process should only take a few moments. When we finish the task, we'll notify you of the successful sync and notify the recipient if you've asked us to. Follow the steps above to start a recipient card sync task.

Deleting Recipients

Sometimes you may need to remove a recipient from your workspace. For example, when someone exits the team. Follow the steps below to remove a recipient from your workspace:


  1. Navigate to Recipients.
  2. Find and select the recipient you'd like to update.
    1. You can search your workspace for the recipient using the magnifying glass in the top right.
  3. Select the details tab.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the details tab until you see the Delete Recipient section.
  5. Click the Delete Recipient button to continue.
  6. We'll ask for confirmation of the request before starting the deletion task.
  7. Enter the recipient's email address, as seen in red, to confirm.
  8. NOTE: Deleting a recipient is permanent and cannot be undone. All active recipient cards will be permanently removed from your workspace.
  9. Click the Delete button.
  10. We'll begin removing all references to the recipient from your workspace, including but not limited to their profile, cards, links, media, etc.
  11. When the task is complete, your recipient will be removed from the workspace.
